The Client:

Aura is an APAC based wealth and fund manager, who’s core focus is providing investors with fund-based solutions across Private Equity, Credit, Venture Capital and Real Assets. They have a wealth management division focused on creating tailored portfolios incorporating global asset management solutions tailored for clients’ interests.

The Challenge

Aura launched a new global multi-asset fund in 2022, providing wholesale investors exposure to institutional type solutions. With this new addition to their offering, they required a platform in which they could consolidate, accurately track, and calculate performance at both an individual instrument or fund and portfolio level, as well as understand the impact of direct and indirect fees.

The Solution:

illio worked closely with Aura to deploy the illio Platform as a solution. The team ensured all transactions from fund inception until the present day were uploaded, bespoke Asset Classes were accommodated, and ensured all data sources covered their needs. Thanks to the onboarding support, and the intuitiveness of the platform, Aura was managing the tool autonomously within a few weeks of handover.

The Results and Benefit:

The illio platform allows the fund manager to not only track and calculate performance, NAV and risks at the portfolio level, but also allows them to define their own asset classes to categorise the various investments held within the fund.  Moreover, the benefit of being able to input all expenses incurred, income received, external and internal cash movements results a very accurate calculation of NAV, P&L and performance.

The accessibility of illio and its reporting capabilities have benefited Aura in more ways than one. Investor communication and engagement has seen a positive increase, and the additional visualizations have supported more general marketing communications as well.
